Apple Spotlight (Cmd-spacebar) used to be so snappy to launch apps that I loved it. Ditto "c" key in Gmail to start new message. Now with those I have to type then consciously pause to wait for software to catch up.

Made some good progress on building my automatic cat feeder today!
    ⁣
⁣Tore apart a kitchen scale to extract the load sensor and platform. Built a stand out of some MDF board. Attached the scale to the base, mounted the dispenser to the back.
    ⁣
⁣Tomorrow I get the motor and can mount that to the back as well as wire up all the circuitry!
    ⁣
⁣In the end, this will be able to drop food into the bowl only if the bowl isn't already full. It'll also track how much is left in the dispenser, as well as hopefully be able to tell when she actually eats by measuring the weight of the bowl!

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
