Dang. I think I may try the ikea bag method and bring it as a carry-on. It's supposed to fit in the overhead bins.
Like in a giant blue bag? That's a thought! My only worry is some planes have the super small overhead and it won't fit, and then they'll want to gate check it.

Ikea Dimpa...perfect size, $4.99. Getting one tonight and taking a chance. Worst that happens my bike gets squashed, falls off the plane, destroys a small town.

Out of curiosity, what airline had them? I've never seen one in the wild!
Delta this morning, pretty sure I've seen them on Alaska as well! They're only in first/business or the bulkhead seats. -
