Good reminder to add "check whether the password field supports pasting from password managers" to my list of criteria when deciding where to open a bank account. https://twitter.com/KeyBank_Help/status/1148247347463446528

That's *literally the opposite of best practice* for online account security. Doing this discourages users from setting up secure, randomized passwords - and encourages them to hold on to the same password for too long. The safest passwords are randomized, from a password manager

@aaronpk I contacted a bank about opening an account and they sent me a PDF form for my personal information and asked me to return it via email. I told them that that request was specifically the reason I chose not to open an account with them.

I really want to visit @adactio’s Homebrew Website Club in Brighton for this reason.

Sounds like it’s what the homebrew computer clubs of yore used to be. Just people messing around with websites for fun.

    Imagine that!

Rewatching TNG, they violate the prime directive so often that not even Patrick Stewart’s Acting can convince me that it’s a big deal. I also got a lot better at spotting obvious plot holes, and wow are there a lot of them. Still the best Trek I’ve watched though.

    Aaron Parecki
yeah, voyager did a better job of making reasonable excuses for violating the prime directive imo, given that they were nowhere near federation space

If you’re going to bring me a paper straw, just don’t bring it at all.
    Aaron Parecki
    omg for real

gotta drink quick or it turns into a soggy mess

i've had those clog themselves up from the paper disintegrating into the straw hole within 5 minutes

Sorry ⁦@Gizmodo⁩ but that’s a stupid headline. ALL cameras support vertical video. You ready for this? Rotate. Your. Hand.
    Aaron Parecki
yeah that one confused me... is the new feature that it sets the orientation in the metadata so that it imports into editors in the right orientation? or do existing cameras already do that? I don't shoot vertical video... 🤷‍♂️

Maybe that’s the “feature”… weeeee. Which of course all smartphones do already. Just calling them out on a clickbaity headline. So dumb.
    Aaron Parecki
I agree, that headline is kinda ridiculous. I am legit excited about that camera tho! I wish Panasonic would come out with an equivalent update for the LX10!
