In my effort to become more involved in the IndieWed community I created indieweb.life and indieweb.social.  A lot of the information out there is either out-of-date or is written so far above the head of the complete novice.  A lot of it is geared towards developers and webmasters.  I wanted to create a place and space where a person with only a cursory knowledge could come and get simple, easy instructions and places to go for further guidance. I wanted to create a simple “get started” site with some simple up-to-date links and instructions on indieweb.life for people looking to get started with WordPress and the IndieWeb.  I also created the open Mastodon instance at indieweb.social for anyone who would like to join an instance focused on supporters and participants of the IndieWeb movement.  I would really like it if some of the more experienced veterans would be willing to critique the site and maybe contribute or syndicate some content that would help new seekers.  Also, if anyone would be willing to be an admin on indieweb.social then we can get listed on joinmastodon.org.

This is really cool! Out of curiosity, where are you seeing out of date information? If it's the wiki, we'd love to know which pages need an update so we can fix them!

Hi, Aaron. Just to clarify, I consider any link dated over 2 years ago “out of date”. Also, there are a lot of dead links in the wiki as well. I can’t give you specifics because I’ve visited so many pages in the wiki, but since it’s such an open space and has grown so large I know it’s impossible to go through every page and keep them up-to-date and check every link shared. I do know that specifically, the Baltimore page is completely irrelevant as those groups don’t exist anymore although I would love to help get HWCB started back up if anyone would be willing to go in with me on the endeavor. I just have no idea who to consult with or where to start. Also, on the Why? page at https://indieweb.org/why, going through each link, a lot of them are dated 5-6 years ago (some older) and I came across a couple of dead/irrelevant links in my checks. My aim in creating indieweb.life was more as an introductory source for someone who doesn’t have a technical background to dip their toes in and then as their skills and knowledge grew, indieweb.org would provide the additional and advanced repository of knowledge to take whatever they were working on to that next level once they were ready.
