I want to build a quick little web site for a thing and I'm facing analysis paralysis over which programming language to write it in, augh 😠

Which language would be the easiest for you to deploy and maintain going forward?

programming language musings Show more @aaronpk A fine question, but unfortunately that doesn't narrow it down very much. I can deploy any language to my server if it has a Heroku buildpack, so basically all the ones that are popular for web dev are fine. I want this thing to be inviting for other people to contribute to if they want, so it should be in a popular language anyway. And to me all these dynamically-typed languages are mostly indistinguishable.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
