    Sure, but that's a different problem. Point is if we didn't have OAuth apps would have been able to get a lot more data since they'd just be logging in as you!

      The other problem is that, somehow, the apps were getting more data for an unauthorized use than they were supposed to get under their agreement.

      That’s a problem authorization UI can’t solve, but you run into the “too complicated a UI” problem if you make it too clear.
