    I appreciate the road that microformats paved, but it's 2017, and I should be using prescribed class declarations ... because?

      what we did with microformats was tighten up on the criteria for standardisation to multiple publishers and consumers.

      That they are "extensible by anyone" is a moot point for webmasters who want to generate these features and their benefits.
