    Your friendly reminder that without open standards, you're not "buying" smarthome hardware, you're renting it. http://www.businessinsider.com/googles-nest-closing-smart-home-company-revolv-bricking-devices-2016-4

    @aaronpk Well, just stumbled on this again. Seems like this requires OpenID2, but not sure: http://forum.mrmoneymustache.com/

    @codyaray I can log in to that forum with my OpenID via IndieAuth just fine.

    @codyaray but no IndieAuth.com doesn't support OpenID 2, it's not really a replacement for 1.

    @aaronpk I'm getting "The requested identifier did not return the proper information." - sounds like a 2.0 problem: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=search2;search=requested+identifier

    @codyaray ah you're delegating to IndieAuth.com as an openid2 provider. Drop that tag and it should be fine.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
