First draft of meal planning cards. One clip for each dinner/lunch of the week. Dinner on the left, lunch on the right. Recipe cards have the name and a brief note on the front, and ingredients and instructions on the back. Makes the week's shopping list really easy to create. In the future, additional recipe cards will live in the paper holders below to make planning the week's food as easy as browsing through a list of favorite recipes. #mealplanning #diy #analogdatabase

Ah, if it's "we" that would probably help.
For checking from away: web cam! (Aka security cam, baby monitor) You just need to find out that seems as secure as your phone/laptop OS.

My problem would be …I never know what I want to eat until I wake up and my taste buds tell me what sounds good for that day…hahahaha. Luckily I don't keep junk food in the kitchen… Good luck with your "app"

There is a Google doc version too, which I can check from the market if I'm making sure something I'd on the shopping list.

I have been playing around with a similar idea. Been gathering meal faves, with notes, to put onto cards! Love the use of clips. Right now I've started with a stick on whiteboard surface on the fridge I update Sunday morning with the week's dinners. Helps to ID leftovers on fridge too, especially for freshness.

That does throw a wrench in the plan. Luckily we're getting better at making a large enough batch of whatever to almost always have leftovers. It's really only stir fry that's been the challenge lately.

We've been doing a much less organized version of this for a few months, basically just writing the recipe name on a whiteboard. Works well! Only downside is there's no way to check the board while away from home.

Excellent theory. Very curious to hear how it pans out. For me, I think I'd somehow neglect to look at the cards. I think....
