@digistump I was excited about the new Oak, but http://rootcloud.io is showing me a domain renewal message.

@digistump ...that's not a good sign if I'm going to trust you to operate this cloud API for my devices.

@digistump Can I run the "rootcloud.io" API on my own servers?

@aaronpk Yes - we'll have a local server version available (and open source of course) for win/osx/linux/raspberry pi - it is node.js based
    Aaron Parecki
@digistump That would be the greatest if I can run the API on a Raspberry pi! That would beat the heck out of @spark_io!

@aaronpk I've switched it to forward to http://Digistump.com until we have a full site up for the rootcloud. Thanks for the reminder!
    Aaron Parecki
@digistump much better! That was definitely unsettling to see that placeholder page!

@aaronpk Yes raspi is my ideal local server -you can count on it being supported & since its node based that's not hard to do!
    Aaron Parecki
@digistump You should mention that on the KS page! I think it's a major selling point vs other systems! #ownyourcloud

@aaronpk Hi Aaron! You could always run @spark_io on a Rpi! http://kennethlimcp.gitbooks.io/spark-local-cloud-on-raspberry-pi/content/index.html Also I'm a big fan of Esri, used to work at Azavea!
    Aaron Parecki
@dmiddlecamp @spark_io oh no way, that's fantastic! Do you know if this will work with the new 3G ones too?

@aaronpk @digistump The trouble is, every time I hear "data cloud", it's somebody else's cloud with their rules what I can and cannot hack.
    Aaron Parecki
@Johannes_Ernst @digistump This one is open source and you can run your own! #ownyourcloud

@aaronpk @digistump #FLOSS would be great for their cloud, but where does it say that it will be? Only talks about "documented API" AFAICT.

@aaronpk The message thread shouldn't filter out past correspondences. Could you let us know more about the issue?

@AirbnbHelp It's very glitchy when sending and updating special offers. I lost a message when I removed an offer it was associated with.

@aaronpk We’ll pass that along. It seems like the message is associated with the special offer itself.
    Aaron Parecki
@AirbnbHelp Thanks. I've also had the thread change the dollar amounts displayed in past entries based on the offers sent.
