Having a tough time finding citations for whether ASIA actually had the rights to use the THX "Deep Note" sound as the intro to their "Countdown to Zero."

There is a reference from asiaworld.org (http://web.archive.org/web/20050319220106/http://asiaworld.org/Armada/1997/0208_106.txt) that cites an email saying that ASIA met the creator of Deep Note and subsequently used it on their album.

The problem is the email says "That was, I believe, made by Will Alexander who is Keith Emerson's keyboard technician" and I can't find any other references crediting either of them as the creator of "Deep Note".

I think what the email is trying to address is that ASIA recorded a fresh version of the THX sound rather than using a sample. I don't think it's implying that they had a hand in making the actually trademarked THX.

Most citations credit James A Moorer.
