"Google Alerts no longer supports RSS delivery" just appeared in my Alerts feeds. Congrats Google, you just broke a whole chunk of the web: https://www.google.com/search?q=%22Google+Alerts+no+longer+supports+RSS+delivery%22

@aaronpk It would allow people to log in with their email, which is more familiar than a URL: a WF look-up gives you their profile page URL.

@ddossot The problem is it's too easy to not own your email address (@gmail.com, etc) so it's not really an "indie" identifier. The point of IndieAuth is to encourage people to own their online identity.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
