    #PHP object properties can only default to a simple expression. No function calls. You have to do it manually in the constructor. WTH?
    Aaron Parecki
    @schwern I'm pretty sure that's standard for most languages. It doesn't make sense to call a function there cause it's a class *definition*

    @aaronpk If that's true, I'm a Himalayan truck driver. Classes have non-constant shared data: database connections, file locations.
    Aaron Parecki
    @schwern Yes, but only after a class has been instantiated. Properties need to be evaluable at compile-time.

    I want my phone extension to be "to reach Aaron, enter pi to 27 digits." Sweet, no phone calls ever!

    @aaronpk: do you really want phone calls from those of us who have memorized digits of pi?
    Aaron Parecki
    @PerryWagle good point :)

    @aaronpk You'd have to increase that to 97 digits for some people. :)
    Aaron Parecki
    @caseorganic Nah it's ok, I don't mind if you call me ;)

    Dates in #javascript suck. I hate saying this, but PHP handles it better.
    Aaron Parecki
    @TechWraith PHP handles dates pretty well actually, especially in 5.2 and later.

    @aaronpk @kenkeiter Agree 100% that mlspdx is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Must find another name.
    Aaron Parecki
    @skinny @kenkeiter Pretty sure NAR doesn't have a trademark on "MLS." NWMLS isn't affiliated with NAR and they seem to be not sued.
