      I was speculating about a digital ID system. You could make a claim consisting of { appearance, a big number } that you were a certain person and they could look the number up and see if the appearances matched... A weakness is that with an online identity it is theoretically easier to find something that matches your appearance claim. And using stronger biometrics might be invasive.
